Spoon House
A moment to unwind in the city.
Thick hotcakes come with homemade syrup and butter. Spoon House also serves siphon-brewed blend coffee, Napolitan spaghetti, omurice and more.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
The hotcakes at Spoon House make a lasting impression with their contrast of crisp edges and a soft, fluffy centre. Two thick pancakes are stacked and served with butter and homemade syrup. The menu specifies that the syrup is made in-house, so you can add as much sweetness as you like. The plain hotcakes cost ¥550, and toppings include fruit, sweet red bean paste, banana cream, and pudding with fruit. Choose the plain version to savour the hotcakes and syrup, or opt for pudding and fruit when you fancy dessert as well.
For a drink, try the siphon-brewed blend coffee. Diners have described it as easy to drink, with pleasant acidity and restrained bitterness; it also makes a good match for the sweetness of the hotcakes.
If you’re in the mood for a meal rather than something sweet, Napolitan spaghetti and omurice are among the options. One diner noted that the Napolitan had plenty of vegetables, while others have said they enjoyed the omurice. These are satisfying choices when you want a proper café-style meal. One visitor chose pork ginger and hamburger steak for lunch, then enjoyed pudding with fruit and coffee for dessert.
This casual café also suits solo diners. If you have time to spare, you can settle in and choose at your leisure, from a meal through to hotcakes.
